Daallo airline was established in 1991 and started operations on 20 March 1991 with one Cessna aircraft. Soviet aircraft were largely used in the 1990s, replaced by Boeing and Airbus aircraft enabling the launch of direct flights between Djibouti and Paris in July 2001 and flights between Djibouti and London in October 2002.

Daalo Airlines is doing it big I see. I noticed in their “about page” that Daalo Airlines was acquired by Istithmar World Aviation Holdings in 2008. I can only imagine with such major backing from a large holdings company that Daalo Airlines will excel with more success. I know Daalo isnt exactly based in Somalia but this is the sort of companies we really need. Insha allah we’ll see more of these sort of companies in the near future.
